*** 14 x R218B in Kidderminster Club Systems (September 23rd 2011)
Yes, 14 dual 18" subs along with 15 Shermann power amps and 22 Shermann mid/hi systems and fills.
These are spread out in a variety of combinations over six rooms in Tribe and the new Vizi Ba which opens
on September 24th.
The systems are controlled by a total of 7 Ashly Protea speaker management units.
We'll have more info' and pictures soon, probably in the November newsletter as well.
** G12 added (September 21st 2011)
We've added a compact, passive 3 way model to the G Series which features similar performance to the G10
released earlier
this year.
Both the new Shermann G12 and the G10 feature the same 1" HF driver and 5" midrange with 12" and 10" bass
drivers
fitted respectively.
Both models feature exceptional efficiency and of course, superb speech and music capabilities.
The first pair of G12 were sold before official release along with a pair of G18B and a Shermann 410AX power
amplifier
to a roadshow based in Pontypool.
* Why Shermann? (September 20th 2011)
We're often asked why our cabinets are more expensive than the many types of speaker available from Music Stores.
The answer is simple - our cabinets do the job properly.
So often we'll meet a customer who once thought his sound system was really good - until he heard a Shermann
sound system.
What makes a Shermann system retain it's clarity not only at medium levels but at very high levels too.
The answer is simple - design expertise and build quality!
Quite simply we know what we're doing - most manufacturers don't.
Our cabs are equipped with excellent components and by that we mean the drive units and crossover boards.
We don't use off-the-shelf crossovers because they simply don't work.
We use 400v and 600v capacitors because 50 or 100v caps generally used in basic shop sold cabinets also don't
work - at least they don't for our high standards.
In addition we don't fit embarrassing amplifiers inside the cabinets like so many other manufacturers.
Our experience to date indicates that amplifiers fitted inside cabinets are generally of the worst quality.
So, when you've become disillusioned by the gear sold in stores give us a call.
* Condom Systems !!!!!!
As if mini Line Array wasn't bad enough the trend in the small sound systems market is now a nasty little pole sticking
up rudely from a bass
cabinet - and to make matters worse, it's more than likely powered too.
An old customer called in last week - first time in ages - who'd bought one of these little systems in a moment of
weakness!
When he called we had some G10 three way tops running with VB15 subs driven by a 4 channel Shermann 410AX
which features a built in crossover.
To say he was shocked at the extreme clarity of the Shermann system is an understatement and when I turned it up
to demonstrate it's retention of sonic integrity at high levels
Now this (ex) customer is stuck with
a sound system than not only looks silly, it's totally underpowered and far too
low to the ground to get past the first
rows of seats.
It would appear to me that designers working for other manufacturers are running out of ideas.
* More neo' news (September 6th 2011)
Scary stories of varying depth and gravity continue to circulate about neodymium driver prices
Here at Shermann
we're keeping a steady
eye on the neo' situation and will keep you posted if anything
really nasty happens.
Although there's been no lowering of driver prices some of our suppliers are simply adding a net surcharge to
the cost which seems a really sensible way to proceed.
For example, our own net costs with regard to the popular G5 have risen by around £ 79.00 in the past 12 months
and on that product we can absorb such an increase.
At the other end of the price scale the neo' driver for the V8 has risen in price by almost £50.00 and that's something
we can't absorb so we've settled on using a ferrite version of the same driver which will be arriving here soon.
The biggest problem here is not knowing what may happen next however, we'll do our utmost to keep our prices
stable for as long as possible.
* GS18C finds friends (August 30th 2011)
Could it be the compact size, the reasonable weight or just the stunningly ballsy performance from our new GS18C
single 18" bass unit that's created a smooth buzz in PA world.
Not just ballsy but probably approaching violent - it's the sound that so many of our customers have been waiting
for since the dawn of time.
OK, that last statement may be a little dramatic but they certainly make lots of nice noises and they're so easy to
transport
especially using our new trolley board c/w its 5" swivel / braked castors.
The trolley board is an option as you can still go for 4" castors on the back of the GS18C - your choice.
Ask for a demo of the superb new GS18C - soon!
* SW-COAT for refurbs (August 14th 2011)
Our new SW-COAT water based textured paint is finding favour with customers who've decided to say goodbye to
their old carpet finish.
Once the old carpet has been removed the satin black finish of SW-COAT covers the rougher wood finish to such an
extent that you'd believe the cabinet's plywood was actually brand new.
If your older Shermann cabs have been round the block and look a little ragged then you really should be talking to us
about SW-COAT.
What's even more pleasant is the fact that it's not a painful financial experience either.
Give us a call and we'll tell you more - that's if you're not already convinced.
* CRASH 2011 (August 7th 2011)
Our G3 and G5 cabs rose to the occasion at the local CRASH FESTIVAL held once again at Abermule near Newtown
on August 5th and 6th.
Using the G3 as the main PA with G5 for the front of stage area the system, running with GS28 and R118B bass
units, covered the entire site - including the second stage too which was unfortunate.
Effectively the FOH PA for the main stage consisted just two G3 cabinets to cover the main area - close to the size of
a football pitch.
It was an entirely Shermann operated site for the two stages using 33 cabinets in total for the two main PA rigs and
stage wedges.
One interesting comment about the systems performance was offered when the wind sprang-up during the afternoon
on Saturday.
It was noted that the partial cross wind had little or no effect on the G3's delivery or level.
Friday played host to five DJs with the amazing Sonny Wharton headlining.
Dean E - Full Stomp offered the crowd a stormin', cleverly crafted set whilst 3 other local area DJs added their own
distinctive styles to a great evening.
On Saturday, numerous bands and solo artists kept the crowds fully entertained from 12noon Saturday until 1am on
Sunday morning.
Mid Walesband Smoke Like A Fish closed the night however, Dai Robs and the Love created a real storm with both
the large crowd and the weather at 8pm when the heavens opened for a short while during their set although none
of their following moved away from the stage.
Other performances of note came from Gritt - all the way from South Africa, Preston's Next Stop Atlanta and of course
Fight The Bear from Bishops Castle.
Big thanks must go to Ian Friend for his constant persistence and assistance, Phil Jeanes for bringing a stonkin'
generator set and lots of other goodies, Jason Evans for his dogged determination handling the Teller Stage and Tim
Bowen for his on-stage work between each bands' set and for doing much of the FOH mix for the main stage.
* NEODYMIUM (July 31st 2011)
It came in with a fanfare and failures!
Initial speaker chassis designs using neodymium magnets overheated so much that the magnetism disappeared
however, it's now beome
an essential in so many speaker cab designs.
Now don't think the Chinese haven't noticed that the use of Neodymium in many life essential areas hasn't
become
a world
wide necessity - from medical equipment to railways and computers neodymium has become a major
component
part.
In the past twelve months and whilst estimates vary it appears that the price of this material has risen between 300 -
800%, depending upon who you believe.
As a consequence the cost prices of our own models using neo' drive units have gone skywards.
Until the Japanese get going to produce their stocks and the Americans re-open their mines it's unlikely that those
wonderful Chinese folks will drop the price by one half cent.
As a consequence we're now taking the following items out of the range - V6,
M20, V20, M25, V25 and G15.
All bass systems will now use Ferrite magnets which is certainly not a bad thing as some of the latest ferrite 15" and
18" designs are truly superb.
We will continue to use neo' magnet compression drivers for as long as manufacturers are making them but we do
reserve the right to add the net increase of the driver to the discounted cost of the cabinet if prices continue to rise.
Best way forward is to contact us as soon as you've decided on your order and we'll quote you at that time.
* ...and now... SW-COAT (July 25th 2011)
It had to come at some time!
A water based paint that's actually
tougher than many resin based coatings but, we have it and our name for it
isSW-COAT.
This new spray-on coating with a textured finish goes rock hard but the pleasant part is the simple repair of any
damage can be done
on your premises and in seconds.
We'll even supply you with a small repair kit FOC just in case the odd accident happens.
SW-COAT is likely to change your mind on water based coatings - it certainly changed ours!
* G5 goes east (July 19th 2011)
East just 55 miles - to Kidderminster in fact.
Alpharel Ltd, long time Shermann RS5 user is switching to the G5 along with GS28 and GS18C bass units.
Having now used the G5 on several different types of gig owner Phil Jeanes is now convinced that the G5
is the way forward for the future.
"It seems that the G5 is as good outdoors as it is inside and having heard a number of competitive models
in recent months this is certainly the box I want fronting our systems for the next few years" said Phil.
* The G5 revolution (July 10th 2011)
More G5 sales and just as pleasant, more interest in this amazing three-way bi-amp drive model too.
The G5 is capable of such a wide range of uses either on its own or in multiples.
In addition, it can be stand mounted for small or medium sized conferences and not appear hideously large.
For those of you not aware the G5 weighs in at under 30kgs yet it's been measured at 116dB at a 5 metre distance.
This equates to 130dB at 1metre.
The G5 is therefore compact, lightweight, very loud, extremely clear, capable of use in pairs or multiples and very
easy to transport - how many competitive cabinets enjoy those attributes.
The G5 has to be the perfect answer for so many jobs, with or without additional bass systems.
Another good reason to call us.
* Neodymium attraction (July 2nd 2011)
It's unlikely that anyone in this industry hasn't heard about the record rises in price of raw neodymium
in recent months.
Apparently the Chinese own most of the world's supply.
By raising the price by many hundreds of percent over the past year or so they either wish to hold the
rest of the planet to
ransom or they're being very sensible about this rare material's future.
Bottom line is the resulting rocket in price for drive units using neo' magnet drivers.
Now in some instances I'm being told the rise is just a few percent whereas in other quarters we've
already received
increases of around 30%.
Whatever the conditions, prices to manufacturers will rise - steeply.
We've decided to call a halt to the use of neo' drivers for bass systems and will be looking carefully
where we go in the
low mid department.
We'll do our utmost to keep prices where they are presently but there is a limit to how much we can
absorb so please
keep an eye on the monthly newsletter where we'll do our best to keep you informed
of any additional changes.
* G3 strikes again (June 14th 2011)
Another outing for the Shermann G3 at a gig where on previous occasions 12 boxes had to be used.
On this occasion half that amount was necessary with a G3 on 2 x dual subs per side.
This particular gig took place at the Cann Office hotel in Mid Wales during June where a number of
excellent and
varied
bands sounded even better through our new flagship G3.
Driven with Shermann 412A and Chameleon 3500 amplifiers the system's performance was, in the
words of FOH
engineer Tim Bowen, effortless.
It was also highly efficient with the G3 operating between -10dB and -6dB (on the low mid) throughout
the bands' sets.
* G5 and R218B sales (June 8th 2011)
Glasgow based PA and lighting company Sono-Vie have purchaased 8 x Shermann G5 cabs with
R218B subs as the start of their Shermann stockholding in western Scotland.
* S-COAT (TCP) success (May 28th 2011)
Our own TCP coating to be known as S-COAT has been tested on a variety of surfaces in the past week.
What we can tell all Shermann users is that S-COAT may be applied to all vintages of Shermann cabinet
including those with the original non self adhesive carpet covering.
This is great news for those who wish to really save money on their original Shermann gear and perhaps
update it at the same time.
Take, for example, a pair of RS5 cabinets.
We can now bring these up to the standard of the forthcoming Mk2 version with S-COAT covering, new
handles,
new
lightwight neodymium 6.5" midrange units and a new
crossover
for the Mid/HF section.
The approximate cost of this complete refit including the S-COAT covering would be
£ 390.00 which is a
huge saving on a new cabinet of such quality and flexibility.
Bring in your RS5 Mk1 models and have them back as fully fitted Mk2 versions ready for another 10 years
hard work.
If you wished you could just have the new S-COAT finish on your RS5 cabs for £ 140.00 per cabinet.
And if you have R118B bass units these would cost just £170.00 per cab.
Call us for more information on this this unique new service from Shermann.
* G3 makes first outing (May 22nd 2011)
At an all day event on Saturday 21st in Ipswich we finally unveiled the new Shermann G3 horn loaded three-
way system.
This all day bash featured 8 bands
with Radio One's Annie Mac headlining.
Driven with Lab Gruppen 3400 amplfiers the G3 covered the 80m x 30m marquee with ease and several
unused dB per amplifier channel.
Hugely realistic sound levels were the order of the day with just a single cabinet per side offered amazing
clarity and uniformity across the entire frquency range.
Weighing in under 50kgs this 137dB mini-line array slayer will be featured in next month's
newsletter which
we'll try to publish early in June.
* New cabinet coating plant installed (May 11th 2011)
This month we're installing a new coating facitlity at our Mid-Wales factory.
S-COAT heavy duty coating will now be available to all and could include older Shermann carpeted cabinets.
Give us a call and we'll give you some further information on the new service.
* Shermann 3500A bass drive (April 30th 2011)
We now have the bigger brother bass amplifier in stock
3,500 watts per channel in to 4 ohms but still only 10kgs in weight.
Another good reason to call or email.
* Shermann 2500A bass drive (April 17th 2011)
In stock and turning heads.
For anyone commited to the LF sound quality of great bass speakers driven by stupidly heavy amplifiers we have
the 10kg answer.
The smallest of our new bass drive amplifiers is now available.
Rated at 2,500watts per channel in to 4ohms this remarkable amplifier has amazing headroom and a ton of balls.
Feel the depth of a Shermann GS28 driven by the 2500A then wonder how you ever managed to operate your sound
system
without
either.
* Shermann G5x sale (April 5th 2011)
We don't often report on sales in these news pages but a new customer has just ordered 8, Shermann G5x cabs
along with slightly modified R218B dual 18" subs.
By modified we mean altereded to have small rear slopes and non-swivel recessed castors.
We'll add more about this sale in the next newsletter.
* Shermann V8 with the new VB15 (March 31st 2011)
Astonishing!
That's been the response of all who've heard and seen our new super compact system consisting of the lighweight V8
and the all new VB15 single 15" compact bass system driven by a Shermann 410A power amp' and the Ashly Protea 3.6SP
speaker management
unit.
So small, so powerful, so responsive and above all, so clear in addition, it's available with a simple yoke style mounting
bracket so
the dispersion of the V8 can be angled up, down or straight ahead.
This is a musical system and our dedicated musical systems are great for vocals and also great for speech.
By small we mean physically small but in terms of output we mean big - very big!
Apart from being a superb sounding ultra compact rig it's also inexpensive, especially when you consider
what you get for
the small outlay.
Take a look at the forthcoming April newsletter for more info on the V8 and VB15 or return to this website soon for more details.
* Solving a non-existant problem (March 31st 2011)
PA sticks are extremely thin column styled boxes supplied complete with complex digital speaker management affairs.
The manufacturers describe this new technology as "beam steering".
You and I are probably more familiar with the more effective and thoroughly simple idea of tilting a more appropriate speaker
using a tilt bracket.
Now with these new PA Sticks there's a lot of software and hardware used to do a really simple job indicating that the designers
of these systems are probably not conversant with the reality of speaker tilting.
We've all been doing it successfully for many years yet all of a sudden this job must be done with the use of a laptop, an Ipad,
an Ipod or even your cell phone.
What's happened to a simple bracket, two wingnuts and a little common sense?
* Smaller Systems (March 14th 2011)
Trying not to forget that we also build a lot of smaller systems we'll have an uprated system together in a matter of days.
The Shermann V8 and VB15 are almost complete and will be on show before the end of March.
Our new V8 has been described before however, the VB15 is a totally new single 15" bass system designed to operate
with many smaller models in the Shermann range.
Being extremely compact yet offering excellent low end drive the VB15 will enhance all smaller Shermann sound systems
especially when used with Shermann power amps and Ashly Protea speaker management.
Prices too for the V8 and the VB15 are extremely compact however, quality is still the keyword for these new models as it
is for
all Shermann systems.
For a demo simply call or email.
* Shermann's G5x (March 10th 2011)
The touring or installation loudspeaker.
Equipped with the finest components and for touring use, coated with our TPC finish - probably the toughest in the business.
A single 15" operates to 850Hz whilst a 2" exit coaxial compression driver takes the response to above 20KHz in two stages
namely 850Hz to 6.3Khz then 6.3Khz to the top.
The touring version weighs in at under 29Kgs whilst the output exceeds 130dB at 1 metre.
Fewer toured speakers is a bonus from a transport and crew perspective.
For installation we can offer the G5x in horizontal or vertical formats and, in virtually any colour.
The G5x is one of the few models available today
that works well as simply a pair per side - with or without subs.
Shermann users bring in a pair of G5x whilst other companies will do similar jobs with four compact line array boxes per side.
No question which system will sound better, offer more accurate dispersion, be easier to rig and use far less amplification
Shermann's G5x is the way forward for cost and sound quality conscious companies.
* Coming soon (February 12th 2011)
The question asked most often these days is "where's the G3?"
The answer is "finishing test very soon"!
With not only the G3 nearing completion for demo we'll soon have the new Shermann X5 / XB2k horn loaded band / DJ system
also highly ideal for use by rental companies for dry hire purposes.
These new models may be supplied in our TPC heavy duty coating or TRC water based textured paint finish.
The X5 / XB2k system has been designed for rapid set-up and trouble free operation in small to medium sized venues where
basic shop sold systems won't
cut it in the way that demanding customers require these days.
Easily driven by Shermann's superb amps
in conjunction with the Ashly Protea 3:6SP DSP, the X5 / XB2k combination will be a
stunning
rig at a stunningly realistic price ready for a Spring release.
Give us a call.
* Great start to 2011 (February 4th 2011)
Shermann sales continue to accelerate with the result that we've had our second best January since Shermann was
started by us in 1982.
February looks really good too and of course we hope this will continue throughout the year.
Lots if interest in newer poroducts such as the V8, V20, G3 and G4.
Shermann amplifiers are also selling really well along with the Ashly Protea 3:6SP and 4:8SP models.
The Shermann 412A 4 ch model has really taken off in a big way although we just started to receiver orders for some of the
smaller amps such as the 204A (400+400) and 206A (650+650) which are now becoming firm favourites.
Keep an eye on our newsletter for more new products - available here and on the homepage.
* G3 finally comes to life (February 1st 2011)
An additional great start to Shermann's New Year.
The long promised, highly efficient G3 has been tested for the first time.
This model was initially to be known as the G1F although from conception to reality the name changed and the new G3 is
proving to be a truly amazing beast.
This light weight audio tool is designed for very
high level requirements where truly accurate dispersion from the minimum
number of cabinets is essential.
As testing continues we'll bring you more new however, you can see the prelimary data sheet for the G3 here.
* First G4 system sold (January 12th 2011)
A great start to Shermann's New Year.
At the first demo we've sold a complete system of Shermann G4 cabs along with Shermann power amplifiers.
Sales talk was unnecessary as just a short demo was enough to convince our customer that the G4 was the cab for him.
An interesting comment came forward from one of the listening party at the demo and that was - "Shermann build
loudspeaker systems - other companies build boxes".
* G4 fired up! (January 5th 2011)
Shermann's return to an earlier years design using current components has taken place a week or so earlier
than expected
.
The G4 prototypes have been built and are now making some very pleasant noises.
Currently in a basic black water based paint finish we're already lined-up for some demos where we'll get opinions from
trusted end users.
If you'd like to add your name to the list of those who'd like a demo please give us a call or send an email.
G4 data sheet here.
2011 ----------------------------- ------------------------------- 2011 ----------------------------- ----------------------------- 2011
* G4 for January 2011 (December 17th 2010)
Shermann returns to earlier years soon with the imminent release of the G4.
The terms 'earlier years' refers purely to the drive unit and horn compliment which in this instance is a return to a dual
drive unit horn assembly.
A powerful 6.5" mid driver and an efficient 1" HF unit operate above 700Hz on the dual driver horn and in the
process, offer an accurate 70° x 40° dispersion.
Frequencies below 700Hz are handled by an efficient 15" driver with a 3" voice coil.
All drivers have neodymium magnet assemblys and are of European manufacture.
The G4 cabinet is constructed from 18mm and 15mm birch plywood.
A 35mm K&M stand mount is fitted as standard whilst 3 point flying track is an optional fitting.
Designed for either the touring circuit or for installation in to premises of 200-500 capacity the G4 will be an economical
but powerful performer for customers who demand the highest quality reproduction.
* New V8 model stuns listeners (November 17th 2010)
Housed inside a box identical in size to the R8M we've launced a new lightweight model.
There have been changes because the driver in the V8 is an efficient, lightweight coaxial unit designed to
offer consistent quality throughout a long working life.
It's been
designed for the extremely efficient reproduction of speech and, with added subs, a wide range of
live and pre-recorded music styles.
Already exposed to some normally reserved listeners whose opinions are rarely expressed we've been
inundated with praise for this excellent new box.
Shermann's V8 does exactly what's written on the tin and then some so all we can say is "don't go to work
without this cost-effective tool of the trade".
Watch out too for the new year release of the Shermann R2B, a super compact 12" bass unit and an ideal
partner for the V8.
See the V8 data sheet here.
* G5x in focus (November 8th 2010)
Often forgotten we do have another popular FOH box that's not only exceptionally efficient it's also reasonably
light in weight.
The G5x has been around for a while but we've never really bothered to promote it as usually, it sells itself.
Now that's about to change and we're planning more publicity for this superb box..
Offering similar output levels to the RS5 this particular model weighs in under 30kgs .
With the imminent release of the even more powerful, more expensive (but heavier) G1F we'll be promoting
two superb FOH boxes instead of one.
The G5x is one of those boxes that just stacks on top of bass cabs in the van/truck adding very little to the overall
weight of the vehicle.
Once out of the vehicle and rigged the story changes completely with 131dB (1metre) of excellent sound quality
and extremely accurate dispersion from it's coaxial compression driver.
Conversely the G5x is just as much at home on stands and in pairs at a small conference where it take up no
more room than some nasty little plastic box although the G5x will sound so much better.
Speech or rock music - all in a days work for the G5x.
See the G5x data sheet here.
* Update (November 7th 2010)
We've decided to simpilfy the naming of newer models in the G Series and as such the forthcoming G1F will be
now be known as the G3 upon release which we expect to be by the end of December.
* G1F takes shape (Oct' 28th 2010)
Our new all in one mid-hi pack, the G1F is slowly taking shape at Shermann HQ.
Designed purely as a 60 x 40 box for medium to high level FOH systems the G1F is equipped with a 35mm
stand mount and industry standard flying track.
We'll have more info' about this new beast very soon.
* Rhyl Pavilion additions (Oct' 28th 2010)
Averaging well over 250 shows per year since 1991 Rhyl Pavilion on the north Wales coast has been using
the same Shermann FOH system during that time.
The cost of running that system in the past 19 years has been one blown HF diaphragm.
Still working well the system has just been modestly extended recently with the addition of a pair of Shermann
GL9 boxes and a Shermann 410A power amp to drive them.
* V25 gaining broad popularity (Oct' 8th 2010)
For the past few weeks Kidderminster's Alpharel Ltd have been using and demonstrating our superb V25
coaxial 15" multi-role
boxes on everything from vocal trios to live bands and even Karaoke.
This super-efficient cabinet is the latest in a range of lightweight products from Shermann aimed directly at the
touring / gigging / entertainment
market where requirements for sonic quality, accurate dispersion and adaptability
are paramount.
Also used more recently with The Singing Waiters the V25 allowed Alpharel to
obtain supreme vocal performance
and coverage for these artists.
Employing one of the finest coaxial 15" neo drivers made today the V25 was designed as a high quality workhorse
within the widest possible range of applications. (V25 data - click here)
* X15/V600 (October 7th 2010)
Having a popular box in the range is all about components, size, accuracy and set-up.
The recently introduced X15/V600 has become exactly that, a popular model in a short space of time because
it does all the right things in a compact, lightweight and affordable package.
With many of our competitors building strange, exotic boxes that neither pack well for transport or project in an
optimum manner we're finding that the honesty of Shermann's sound delivery and reliability of our service have
become the premium selling factors.
With honesty comes product respect and that's exactly what we've received for Shermann's new D Series.
* CCA at Bedford School (Sept' 14th 2010)
It's not all about 3kw dual 18s and supporting amplification here at Shermann.
Quite recently Crystal Clear Audio based in west London undertook a large installation involving a varied
amount of equipment
at The Bedford School near Luton.
Included in the mix of gear were 12 Shermann GL3 loudspeakers and R3B subs.
Finished in white the 12, GL3 cabs were all wall mounted in the same room although not all are used at the
same time.
The room is used for a wide variety of events therefore the system had to be capable of firing in several
different directions according to needs.
The subs have also been configured for use in various locations in the hall.
We plan to add a page in the Gigs and Installs section soon as Nick from CCA has already sent a number
of interesting pictures of the job.
We'll add a link here once this has been done.
* The new 412A 4 ch' amp is now available (September 6th 2010)
Shermann's all new 412A - stunning quality - amazing value!
Get ready for probably the best amplifier you've ever used and at a "quality / power / price" ratio that probably cannot
be beaten.
Forget what you've been TOLD about other amplifiers.
Remind yourself to actually HEAR the 412A and discover its incredible performance, that's what really matters.
Remember that it still weighs in at less than 9kgs.
* New 4 channel amp in September (August 25th 2010)
We'll have a more powerful 4 channel power amplifier in September.
Get ready for the
412A which will offer 1,250 watts per channel in to 4 ohms and still weigh in at less than
9kgs.
Rumours of improved low end response have been issued by the design team whilst the superb response of
the upper mid and HF will continue to be as good or better than any 4 channel amplifier on the market.
Even more power too on the low end with the imminent launch of Shermann's 225G - a twin channel bass drive
powerhouse offering 2,250 watts per channel in to 4ohms.
Still housed in a compact 2U case with a total weight less than 10kgs the 225G will provide amazingly
realistic
drive in to dual 18" bass drive cabinets such as the Shermann G1B and GS28x.

* Crash Festival - Huge success (August 15th 2010)
A quick report on a lazy Sunday to say that yesterday's Crash Festival at Abermule near Newtown was a
true success and may well be repeated next year.
Bringing a truly professional event to a small mid-Wales town is not an easy matter but the day went really
well despite one very potent rain shower despite which the bands played on regardless.
From Shermann's viewpoint the use of the new G1B dual 18" subs, GS25 dual 15" subs
and four 10
year old GL9 was a also success bringing
rare true depth and clarity to an outdoor event.
More news soon hopefully with some pictures.
* X15/V600 15" two way box (August 4th 2010)
Although this trapezoid box was released some time ago we can now offer the X15/600 in multi-role format.
Just add a V in front of the 600 and we're there.
A great box ready for numerous tasks and efficient with it.
Equipped with a superb 1.4" neo' compression
driver on an aluminium horn the new
X15/V600 is a great full
range box for small PA and music systems as well as a stunning wedge used in singles or pairs.
Prices for pairs are better than many competitors' single unit costs so, give us a call and we'll tell you more.
The D Series is amazing value and it's all built in Britain - like all Shermann products.
* GS25 dual 15" super sub in action (July 20th 2010)
Recent weeks have seen our compact super-sub out and about from a few miles local down to Hereford.
In Hereford Cathedral the GS25 provided low end drive as part of a three-way system whilst closer to home
a village hall provided the recent setting for a compact two say system using the GS25 and V20 powered
by Shermann's 410A four channel anp.
Both gigs were well endowed in the lower end of the audio spectrum.
The GS25 is an amazing beast taking only a decent quality amp to drive it to ( previously) rarely encountered
low end performance.
Take a test drive of Shermann's new GS25.
* WHERE WILL YOU BE ON AUGUST 14th - THE CRASH FESTIVAL IN ABERMULE ???????????????????
OK, this is a plug - pure and simple.
The CRASH FESTIVAL in Abermule is definitely the place to be on AUGUST 14th - starts at midday.
13 or 14 bands and some other stuff too - many musical styles - great day out for the family.
Runs 'til midnight - it may be scorching - it might rain - bring a brolley - who cares!
New Shermann product in use too so it has to be worth a visit for a measely tenner (£5.00 for kids) - great value.
Come along on August 14th - have some fun - be entertained after all, we have bands coming from as far afield
as Huddersfield and Bath along with a shedload of local talent.
See poster here or festival website here - location will be signposted from all main roads on the day.
* 410A 4ch amp out again (July 1st 2010)
One of the top Mobile DJs from the mid-Wales area used Shermann's 4 channel power amp for a lengthy barn
dance gig on June 28th.
Matched with Shermann
cabs (4 x B800 and 2 x Gx600) the system covered over 700 young farmers - not known
for enjoying quiet evenings out.
According to Ian Friend who owns and operates New Generation Disco, the system performed faultlessly on the
night and to a far higher standard than with his original amplifiers.
Another box ticked for one of the best amps on the market.
* New large scale point source system (June 23rd 2010)
The sluggish return to popularity of point source systems to a market currently dominated by a variety of rather poor
line array boxes heralds the way for the superb new G1 system from Shermann.
Such is the importance we've given to the new "expandible" G1 system we even have a new domain name.
Just click on Shermann G1 to see a brief outline of the new system. - more to be added as days go by.
* Shermann amps - more glowing reports (June 23rd 2010)
Hereford Cathedral was the setting for a recent outing of our new 4 channel amp but this time it was accompanied
by the 218G 2 channel bass drive and the 204A 1U multi-purpose amplifier driving foldback.
At a multi-denominational event on Sunday June 20th our own system also using the our new GS25 subs, plus
M20 and M25 wedges, was used for a large congregation.
Reports
on the day were utterly positive and it was good to hear the amazing clarity present from this rather small
system within the fairly difficult acoustic environment of the Cathedral.
* Shermann 410A 4ch amp receives thumbs up - (June 4th 2010)
Used at Llangollen over the recent bank holiday weekend Shermann's new 4 ch' amplifier (410A) was coupled
to a pair of Shermann CA6 to drive low mid & mid/hi.
These cabs were paired with some unknown dual 18" sub boxes driven by a meaty old Chevin amp.
With an audience of over 700 the pairing worked a treat according to all who attended and in particular,
James Barber who owns the PA.
Watch out for more user comments soon.
* Shermann GS25, the bass cab that ticks all boxes - (May 27th 2010)
We bring you thunderously detailed low frequency drive!
Just 126mm taller than a GS18 with the same width and depth the all new twin 15" GS25 is different to virtually any
other dual 15" box.
The amazing quanitity of true low end drive is nothing short of amazing.
This all comes from an easily portable 2kw cabinet finished with all the usual thoroughly practical Shermann fittings.
No curved fronts or awkward shapes with this box.
It stacks and stores simply and efficiently in your van, in your unit and on stage.
It's affordable, high quality common sense bass drive with a host of extras.
* Shermann 410A power amplifier in stock - (May 21st 2010)
A little sooner than expected the 410A power amp has arrived.
1,000 watts (4 ohms) of crystal clear power with superb LF response thrown in for free.
Just 10Kgs and ready to go to drive 8 passive 8ohm wedges or biamped FOH systems.
Call us for a test drive.
* GS25 released in June - (May 17th 2010)
A totally new bass beast featuring the latest technology in neodymium drivers.
The GS25 is a compact cabinet designed to produce very low frequency drive in smaller systems.
It wil be a great touring cabinet for AV, theatres and the majority of smaller UK venues seating audiences of up to 600.
The GS25 will have a -3dB point of 34Hz however, from a vehicle stack viewpoint its gross external dimensions (including
the castors and skids)
are
just 890H x 530W x 720D.
Newly developed twin 15" drivers featuring a radial cone, roll surround and dual silicone spider offer a combined total of
2,000 watt AES handling.
Shermann's GS25 will be a great way to go gigging.
* GS28x released in July - (May 16th 2010)
Following on from the GS18x the thunderous GS28x will be available in a few weeks time.
With a future proof 3,400 watts of AES power handling the new cabinet will be built entirely from premium quality 24mm birch
plywood.
As expected, the standard model will be road-ready with our heavy duty TPC coating, six handles, four castors,
skid locators
for safe stacking, foam fronts and a heavy duty steel mesh grille.
With a -3dB point of 33 Hz the new box will be capable of bass delivery that most 21" drivers can't manage.
Fewer subs - reduced van loadings - improved low end performance = greater profits; for your company.
* GS18x moving air - (May 9th 2010)
The GS18x proves a point - buy the best and you get the best.
Offering the performance of many dual 18" boxes the compact GS18x and its astonishing 1700 watt driver can actually save you
money - and van/truck space.
The GS18x really is a fairly small cabinet more espcially when you consider its output capability.
We have just one sample pair at this time however, orders are being taken for its launch in July.
Also, watch out for the dual 18" version; the GS28x along with uprated versions of R Series bass drive models - the all new
R118x
(single 18") and R218x dual 18" model.
* New X8/500 dual 8" model - (April 30th 2010)
Early May we'll be releasing an interesting 8 ohm box.
As standard the X8/500 is a trapezoidal model equipped with a 35mm stand mount adaptor with optional foam fronts or flying track
fitted if required.
Using two 4ohm 8" drivers in series plus a 1" compression driver on a 90 x 60 horn the X8/500 will be Shermann's first dual 8" box
but one that's capable of being ordered in a horizontal format for installation c/w 8mm nut plates; ideal for low ceiling venues.
We'll also offer two standards of external finish - black TRC water based textured paint or Shermann's TPC heavy duty finish at extra
cost.
The X8/500 will be an ideal model for AV, presentations, churches, schools and smaller gigging duties.
Recommended for use with either the XB15/600 in general two way system or with the XB15/1200 for bass heavy events.
* NEW 4 channel Shermann Amp this month - (April 7th 2010)
1,000 watts per channel x 4 from a 10kg, 2U package - the Shermann 410AB will be available later this month to drive FOH or wedges.
During May we'll have the 410ABx fitted with comprehensive crossover and filtering too - more on that closer to release date.

* Shermann totally firm on UK build - (March 25th 2010)
Contrary to some recent "rumours" heading around the industry Shermann has no plans to build off-shore.
It's always been a truly British product using European sourced components and it's staying that way.
One large guitar amplifier manufacturer in the USA has decided to bring it's product home recently and it's fairly
obvious why they've made that decision.
Shermann has never considered building outside the UK for numerous reasons with the main ones being quality
control and the high cost of importation.
It may be unfashionable to manufacture in Britain but it's the right thing to do for our customers and also makes good
financial sense in the Shermann boardroom.
* Shermann V20 multi-role box - (March 15th 2010)
We're always quite proud when we bring out a successful new model especially when it's incredibly well received however, there'll
always be one client for whom the box is not quite as he would like it.
This happened recently when demoing the M20 wedge when one customer stated "if that was a multi-role box I'd order it right now".
Well, we'd already decided to launch the low-profile multi-role version and here it is. (V20 intro' link)
....
Shermann's all-new V20 brings the low-profile benefits of the M20 using the same wedge angle to a multi -role model c/w flying track
and stand mount adaptor.
In addition to it's extremely favourable 35 degree angle the V20 also features a slightly less steep 45 degree angle.
Once again, no need for matched pairs because the driver is coaxial and fitted in the centre of the baffle board.
Also, no changing or switching of input plates either as the V20 is equipped with two dual input NL4 plates to allow the box to be used
as a wedge on either slope.
....
The V20 is a real winner in every respect.
It's a FOH box and a dual angle wedge which my be pole mounted or flown!.
The apex height of the V20 as a 35 degree wedge is just 22mm taller than the M20 yet it shares the same external dimensions - same flight
case size too.
If the M20, possibly the best 12" wedge on the market, isn't right for you the V20 multi-role version could certainly be the answer.
A V20 data sheet is now available.
Shermann Amplifiers - (March 6th 2010)
Yes, after many months of searching for the right product to sport the Shermann name we've found a small but excellent
range of amplifiers.
In April we're planning to have demo models in stock of the first which will be a fan cooled 1U model just 7" deep and
weighing a few kgs to be known as the Shermann 204AB.
The planned powering of bass systems has not been forgotten but will continue when we eventually complete our search
for a module capable of offering the quality we expect to drive Shermann products.
Click here for more information on the future range of Shermann amplification.

Try the new M20 wedge.
Call us for a demo and be confronted by a super compact monitor that sounds amazing and is ideally practical.

It's angle has been tried and tested on previous designs
to great satisfaction and welcomed comment.
Call us for details and a demo.

limiting and a high pass filter at 60Hz.

Our prototype M25 wedges were out and about over the Christmas and New Year period.
Excellent reports have come through to us especially about the vocal and instrumental accuracy of these new low profile wedges.

'fantastic value'
these new Shermann models really accomplish all jobs with ease.
They really are wedges for every gig ready to cover numerous on-stage requirements for the widest selection of events.
You'll find the data sheet here.
* New Year 2010 - (Dec' 31st 2009)
It's time to wish everyone a prosperous new year.
Also time to remind you that Shermann is one of the few pro-audio manufacturers who still build products in the UK - and we're
very proud to do so.
With so many cheap and cheerful loudspeakers coming in to the country, many of which will be in land-fill sites by this time next year,
we're thankful to continue our regime of continued quality improvements in both design and finished products.
It's not just cabinet building.
We actively seek out the very best components to be used the highest percentage of which are of European manufacture with just a
few percent sourced from the USA and elsewhere.
During 2010 make sure you give Shermann some serious thought as your touring or gigging system.
Installation too - we have the products many of which are supplied with special finishes and rigging hardware.
We're here to help so please call us on 01686 622997 or email info@shermann.com.
* Coaxial 15" stage wedge arrives - (Dec' 20th 2009)
Shermann's M25 super low profile stage wedge is here, albeit in prototype form.
The high efficiency 15" coaxial driver we've used is a superb piece of European engineering however, in terms of price the M25 will be
be less expensive than the older, larger MRL5.
We've also added a special link facility called "Link-Onwards" using an additional pair of NL4 sockets wired from input pins 2+ 2- of the
main input NL4T
connectors.
This link allows a single four core cable to be used from your amp rack to drive four wedges (2 x 4ohm) with no special cables
required as long as all subsequent cabling has wiring to pins 1+ 1-.
"Link-Onwards" has the added advantage of reducing the quantity of on-stage wiring.
Shermann's M25 - born from experience and demand.
Click here - see the preliminary M25 data sheet and details of the new "Link-Onwards" facility.
* Successful 2 x 18" bass cab offer extended - (Dec' 11th 2009)
Because it's so close to Christmas we're spreading good tidings with our R218B and GS28 dual 18" deal and extending
the ordering time frame until
the end of January.
To be perfectly honest, the main reason for the extension has been the initial take-up of our offer and the fact that we're rather
inundated as December is limited to a three week manufacturing month.
Don't let that put you off though as this is a superb offer and ideal for anyone needing the power and depth of our excellent 2 x 18"
boxes.
Click here to learn more about the offer!
* New part-ex deals for 2010 - (Dec' 7th 2009)
From January we'll be operating a more open policy about part exchanged gear.
Following this year's successes we'll be offering part exchange deals taking all types of good speakers, amplifiers
and DSP in part exchange for new Shermann cabs and possibly FFA amps too.
If you're considering purchasing new equipment in the new year call us soon - good deals are waiting.
* M25 stage wedge - (Dec' 2nd)
We're working on a very low profile, compact stage wedge to be released later this month.
This 15"/1.4" will feature a wedge apex height some 20mm less then the diameter of its driver due to some
very careful design procedures.
The M25 is not a fashion statement; its
a
high quality, 128dB wedge for use by the discerning.
* December R218B deal - (Nov' 28th)
Starting Tuesday December 1st the superb R218B dual 18" sub will be offered to all at a special
